Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide on the ACTH(4-10) sequence with the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, molecular formula C₃₇H₅₁N₉O₁₀S, a molecular weight of approximately 813.97 Da, and CAS number 80714-61-0. The C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension enhances peptidase resistance (aminopeptidase and carboxypeptidase) and in-vitro stability.
