Description

Sermorelin (GRF 1-29 NH₂) is a synthetic 29-amino acid peptide corresponding to the N-terminal fragment of human GHRH, molecular formula C₁₄₉H₂₄₆N₄₄O₄₂S, a molecular weight of approximately 3,357.88 Da, and CAS number 86168-78-7. The first 29 residues constitute the minimum sequence required for receptor-binding interactions at GHRH-R in published research models.

In laboratory research, Sermorelin is utilized in pituitary somatotroph receptor-binding assays, cAMP-dependent PKA pathway activation studies, hypothalamic–pituitary in-vitro signaling investigations, competitive-displacement binding assays (¹²⁵I-GHRH tracer), calcium-imaging experiments in pituitary cell lines, and comparative in-vitro structure–activity studies with related synthetic peptides on the GHRH backbone (CJC-1295, tesamorelin).
