Description

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157 — a historical laboratory designation based on the peptide’s gastric origin, not a claim of protective or therapeutic activity in humans) is a synthetic 15-amino acid pentadecapeptide with the sequence Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val, molecular formula C₆₂H₉₈N₁₆O₂₂, a molecular weight of approximately 1,419.53 Da, and CAS number 137525-51-0. BPC-157 is derived from a partial sequence of the gastric protein from which it was originally isolated. Notably stable in acidic environments, BPC-157 is one of the most extensively studied synthetic peptides in laboratory research.

In laboratory research, BPC-157 is utilized in investigations of nitric oxide (NO) system modulation (both eNOS and iNOS pathways), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGFR2 expression, focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and paxillin signaling, epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor interactions, JAK-2/STAT-3 pathway signaling, and receptor binding mechanisms in gastrointestinal epithelial cell culture models. Researchers employ it in endothelial tube formation assays, tendon fibroblast and tenocyte proliferation studies, and cell viability experiments under oxidative stress conditions.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder with ≥99% purity verified by HPLC. For storage and handling conditions, refer to the Certificate of Analysis provided with each lot. This product is intended strictly for laboratory research use only (RUO) and is not for human consumption, therapeutic use, or any diagnostic purposes.
