BPC-157 is derived from a partial sequence of the gastric protein from which it was originally isolated. Notably stable in acidic environments, BPC-157 is one of the most extensively studied synthetic peptides in laboratory research.
In laboratory research, BPC-157 is utilized in investigations of nitric oxide (NO) system modulation (both eNOS and iNOS pathways), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGFR2 expression, focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and paxillin signaling, epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor interactions, JAK-2/STAT-3 pathway signaling, and receptor binding mechanisms in gastrointestinal epithelial cell culture models.
