Description

Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino acid peptide on the human GHRH(1-44) backbone (molecular formula C₂₂₁H₃₆₆N₇₂O₆₇S, molecular weight approximately 5,135.9 Da, CAS number 804475-66-9) with a trans-3-hexenoic acid modification at the N-terminus. The N-terminal hexenoic-acid group enhances resistance to DPP-IV enzymatic cleavage while retaining receptor-binding interactions at GHRH-R with downstream cAMP/PKA signaling in research models.

In laboratory research, Tesamorelin is utilized in GHRH-R signaling studies in cell-culture models, somatotroph in-vitro stimulation assays, GHRH-R binding-affinity characterizations, hypothalamic–pituitary in-vitro signaling investigations, and comparative structure–activity studies with related synthetic peptides on the GHRH backbone (sermorelin and native GHRH(1-44)).
