Description

DSIP (a synthetic nonapeptide historically designated ‘Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide’ based on its original isolation context — this name does not constitute a claim of sleep-inducing activity in humans) has the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, molecular formula C₃₅H₄₈N₁₀O₁₅, a molecular weight of approximately 848.82 Da, and CAS number 62568-57-4. Originally isolated from cerebral venous blood of rabbits during electrically induced sleep in an in-vivo animal-research context, DSIP is characterized by its amphiphilic nature and ability to cross the blood-brain barrier in research models.

In laboratory research, DSIP is utilized in EEG-based studies in animal models, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis modulation experiments, corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) and ACTH secretion interaction assays, circadian rhythm signaling investigations, somatostatin and endorphin level modulation studies, and oxidative stress marker assessments (SOD, GPx, catalase activity). Researchers also employ DSIP in stress-response pathway investigations examining cortisol and corticosterone regulation, and in neuronal cell culture models studying neuropeptide-mediated signaling.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder with ≥99% purity verified by HPLC. For storage and handling conditions, refer to the Certificate of Analysis provided with each lot. This product is intended strictly for laboratory research use only (RUO) and is not for human consumption, therapeutic use, or any diagnostic purposes.
